guys use common sense the first one most got right second you cant overcome last place then what would you have been before that and the last one is mary

If you overcome the person in second place than you are in first.
If you overcome the person in last place, than you are not in last place. You could be any other place but not last place.
The fifth daughter's name, is obviously Mary. "Mary's father has four other daughters..."
